Located deep within the Suriname jungle, approximately 200 kilometers from Paramaribo, the task of delivering materials to remote villages posed unique challenges. The only viable transport method was by river, and, given low water levels, we relied on canoes for the safe and efficient transportation, made possible through the dedicated efforts of our local partner, MES.
About the Project:
Our endeavor has now begun, with the installation of ten new power plants situated along the Suriname River. The primary objective is to provide reliable electricity to villages that previously lacked access. Each power plant will consist of a solar facility (totaling 1.74 MWp), a battery station (totaling 7.25 MWh), and diesel generators (totaling 0.8 MVA).
The successful realization of this project marks a significant stride towards the provision of sustainable energy to these remote communities.
We extend our gratitude to Contracting Agency NV Energiebedrijven Suriname for their outstanding collaboration.
We take great pride in contributing to this meaningful transformation.
